Brother Knights,
This Saturday, I am asking you to join your Grand Knight, Ed Bahoura, and our Life Director, Dan Tardiff, at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy for something very different from our usual council activities. At White Chapel are the graves of five preborn children whose bodies were discovered in Oakland County in 1980. They were given the dignity of a burial, and each year people gather at their gravesite to make sure they are not forgotten. The memorial service is part of the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children.
Think about that for a minute. Five little children are buried only a few miles from us. They never had birthdays, never went to school, never grew up, married, had children of their own, or experienced the things we sometimes take for granted. And they represent something much bigger, the millions of unborn children whose lives have been lost through abortion in our country. We cannot bring those children back, but we can remember them. We can pray for them. We can stand at their graves and acknowledge that their lives mattered.
That is what our commitment to Life as Knights is all about — defending the dignity of human life, especially when that life has no voice of its own. Please consider giving one hour this Saturday and joining Dan and me, along with your Brother Knights.

There will be a short memorial service and rose ceremony. You do not need to bring anything or make a speech. Just come, stand with your Brothers, pray, and help make sure these children are not forgotten.
