πŸ™ Serving Those Who Have Served So Many πŸ™

This past Saturday, several of our brother Knights and family members had the profound privilege of serving lunch to the senior retired clergy. What began as a simple act of hospitality quickly became a deeply meaningful and humbling experience for everyone involved.

The joy and gratitude expressed by the priests touched all of us. Many shared how much they enjoyed the food, fellowship, and opportunity to simply relax and be cared for. It was heartwarming to see them smiling, enjoying seconds and thirds, and spending time together in fraternity and conversation. I asked our volunteers how they felt. Here are some responses.

Brian and Linda Brennan: Warm, wonderful feelings serving such a grateful group who has served others their entire life.

Edgar Lucero didn’t waist any time getting involved with Knight’s events. He joined the council last month. It is a profound honor to serve lunch to the senior clergy. It is such a humbling experience to be able to give back to those who dedicated their lives to guiding the faithful and giving their lives to service the lay people. In this simple act of service, I hold such a deep sense of reverence and gratitude, for even in the small act of giving, it was not us who served them, but they who served us, pouring unto us graces and blessings untold.

Shaifali Lucero said: It was truly a privilege to serve the fathers for a few hours. They have devoted so many years of their lives to faithful serving their communities and having the opportunity to give back to them, even in a small way, was an incredible blessing and honor.

Wally EliasΒ  said: The event was amazing to see all the priests being happy and satisfied. They told me that the food was delicious and they were satisfied and happy with the food that we served them and we kept serving them seconds and thirds. They even asked for to go plates to take to their rooms.

To our brother Knights who may have stepped away or become less active over the years β€” we warmly encourage you to come back and experience moments like these. The friendships, fellowship, purpose, and joy that come from serving others together are difficult to describe until you experience them firsthand. The Knights of Columbus is more than meetings and events β€” it is brotherhood, faith in action, and the opportunity to truly make a difference in the lives of others while enriching your own.

Thank you to all the Knights and spouses who helped make the day so special. These moments remind us what the Knights of Columbus is truly about: fraternity, charity, gratitude, and joyful service to others.

Vivat Jesus!

Ed Bahoura-Grand Knight
