Jennathon - Pancakes and Sausage

Event Chair: Glenn

DETAILS:

we will be making and serving pancakes and sausage to the participants at the Jennathon.  Prep Friday June 5, and event on Saturday, June 6

Here are some suggestions for workers I think we will need:

Friday, June 5th starting at 3:30 pm until 5:30 pm in the Davidson Center:
  • 4 people for cooking / preparing sausages for the following morning and pulling together equipment we'll need for breakfast at the event
Saturday June 6th starting at 6:00 am until about 7:00 in the Davidson Center:
  • 4 people for preparing pancake batter, re-heating sausages in hotel pans, and loading equipment for transport to Troy High
Saturday June 6th starting at 8:00 am until 10:30 am at Troy High School on the east side:
  • 3 people to serve breakfast beginning at about 8:00 am for workers and with the bulk of people eating breakfast after about 9:30
Saturday June 6th starting at 10:00 am until 11:30 am at Troy High School and then back to the Davidson Center
  • 4 people to clean up at Troy High, transport equipment back to the Davidson Center, and wash dishes there
There are a few Knights that always enjoy setting up and serving at this event, and I hope they are all there again this year.  It is always a lot of fun! Emoji   And of course, several people will sign up for all of the above tasks in a row.

Other things to consider in preparation:
  • I'll work with Kevin on getting sausages ordered from Miceli and Oldfield and delivered probably on Wednesday 6/3 to the DC refrigerator just like our regular pancake breakfasts
  • We'll probably need two batches of pancake batter (more?), if I remember right.  We have all the ingredients on hand in our DC pantry
  • We will have to bring chafing dishes and Sterno plus some hot water in a big thermos jug for the chafing dishes
  • Bring two griddles, utensils, warming box, syrup packets and bottles, butter, napkins pats, plates, eating utensils, kitchen utensils (spatulas, tongs, knives ...), paper towels and spray cleaner bottle, foil, cellophane, bags
  • Bring hotel pans already filled with prepared sausages and several extra hotel pans for pancakes for storage in the warming box
  • Bring anything else we need to make preparing and serving easier at the event
Thanks again, John, and everyone that plans to help out!  Please pray for a beautiful morning on June 6th!

Vivat Jesus,
Glenn
