Knights Needed – Help Bring VBS (Vacation Bible Study) Lunar Lander to Life

Brother Knights,

See email below from Brenda.

We have a wonderful opportunity to help our parish and make a lasting impression on the children of St. Anastasia.

Brenda Kozlowski from Religious Education reached out regarding a special Vacation Bible School display — a large lunar lander that will be used in the gathering space to help launch this year’s VBS theme. Unfortunately, after being transported several times, the cardboard structure became damaged and no longer holds its shape properly.

She is hoping some of the talented and skilled men of our council may be able to help engineer or build simple wooden supports to stabilize and strengthen the display before next Thursday.

This may seem like a small project, but moments like these are exactly what the Knights of Columbus are all about — using our God-given talents in service to our parish, our families, and especially our children. Imagine the excitement and wonder this will create for the kids walking into VBS and seeing something truly special built with care and love by the Knights.

We have many gifted craftsmen, builders, engineers, and problem-solvers in our council. If you are willing to help, or even brainstorm solutions, please reply to this email or contact me directly as soon as possible so we can coordinate.

Thank you, brothers, for always stepping forward when the parish needs us. It is inspiring to see how much can be accomplished when Knights come together in fraternity and service.

Vivat Jesus!

Hi Ed and Chris,
Religious education has a situation.
Attached is a picture of a lunar landing that they wanted to use to launch VBS in the gathering space!
It would be so cute for our kiddos!
This is what it’s supposed to look like, only the top portion was made of cardboard and got “smushed” the many times it was transported.
So now it looks a little sad – because it hasn’t held the angles on the top and bottom.
Mike thought someone in the Knights might have the skill to engineer or create wooden supports for this flimsy cardboard to stand sturdier than it is now.
Can you think of a good match in your guys for this dilemma/project?
It would need to be completed by Thursday of next week.
Thanks for helping to brainstorm help!
God bless,

Brenda Kozlowski
